Those of us who have dabbled in writing often dream of presenting our words to a crowd at a bookstore – and the Voyagers in 1B actually had that goal become a reality this past week!
Grandpas, nanas, aunties, caregivers, friends of the family, and every type of friend that could be described as "grand" filled the Boulevard during our annual Grandfriends Day!
The fourth grade held a Columbinating Event, transforming the Boulevard into a tour of five New York City landmarks, a multifaceted project wrapping up their study of Christopher Columbus and the Indigenous Taino population he encountered. This tour was unlike any other NYC tour, as each landmark explored and incorporated different perspectives relating to a unique aspect of the unit.
It's breads! it's spreads! It's breads and spreads! Family treats from all across the globe were shared and devoured at Kindegarten's annual Breads and Spreads Feast!
Maps, maps and more maps! As part of their study of the Lewis and Clark expedition, the third grade trekked to the Map Division of the NYPL to explore their collection!
