Speyer Parent Portal User Guide

The Speyer parent portal is a personalized online resource and your primary source of Speyer information regarding your child(ren). We recommend that you bookmark the following URL: https://portals.veracross.com/speyer/

Typically, if there are time-sensitive registrations or forms, we generate buttons that appear right at the top of your main portal page. For example, in the late summer, registration for Program BLUE and Middle School Afterschool, as well as Athletics sign-ups appear there.

  • My Children - lets you check your child’s class schedule and attendance records.

  • Attendance/Dismissal Changes - is how you inform Speyer of changes to your child’s attendance and dismissal plans.

  • Speyer Messages - archives all emails from Speyer that have been sent via Veracross in a centralized location so you can find communications quickly.

  • Update Household Profile - allows you to keep your information current, choose which information to share, and to add contacts and pickup authorizations.

  • School Policy Forms - vary based on school division and the time of year. This is where you can authorize self-dismissal and/or Athletics self-dismissal for MS students. This is also where you would enter school bus information at the beginning of the school year.

  • Student and Household Directories - display up-to-date contact information for your child’s classmates and friends.

  • Faculty Directory - displays contact information and emails for faculty, staff, and administration.

  • Other Handy Buttons and Tabs - link to school calendars, the lunch menu, the Speyer Spirit Shop, school news, the PA information, transportation, and other school information.

Parent Portal FAQs

How do I access the portal?

The portal can be accessed from any computer or device that is connected to the Internet and has a modern web browser with cookies enabled. Veracross uses 128-bit SSL encryption, so all interactions are secure.

We recommend that you bookmark the following URL: https://portals.veracross.com/speyer/

For technical problems logging in, please contact us at parentsupport@speyerlegacyschool.org

Is the portal data secure?

Veracross uses 128-bit SSL encryption, so all interactions are secure. It is important for you not to share your log-on information with anyone.

How do I change my password?

Your password can be changed by clicking on the "Change Password" link after you click on your initials on the upper-right. It is important for you not to share your log-on information with anyone.

How do I update my personal information, address, phone number, etc.?

“Update Household Profile” allows you to keep your information current, choose which information to share and to add contacts and pickup authorizations. We urge everyone to verify their address, phone number, and other personal information at the beginning of each year and to update their records as changes occur.

Is having a home phone number sufficient?

If you have a home phone, please include it. A mobile phone is better for emergency communication and we urge everyone to include their mobile phone number. It is important that your mobile number is identified as such, otherwise you will not receive important SMS text messages from Speyer.

How can I make sure I receive emergency messages (such as weather-related school closings)?

As part of our emergency planning system, Speyer will use our new Veracross platform to send important time-sensitive information to families and employees through text messages (SMS). We urge everyone to provide their mobile phone number. It is important that your mobile number is identified as such. For example, if you list your mobile number as your home or work phone, and don’t specify it as your mobile number, then you will not receive important SMS text messages from Speyer.

Do I have control over what personal information displays in the directory?

Yes, in “Directory Preferences.” For each directory, you can select the information that you would like to display or hide.

How do I add pickup authorization?

First you have to make sure the personal is an additional contact (see above for notes). The next step is to go to “Pickup Authorization” in the same section and select the appropriate contact. Again be sure to specify for which children, if you have more than one child.

Can I see when I made a change to my Household Profile?

There is an Update log that shows the various changes that you’ve made.

Can my older Middle School child be authorized to pick up my younger Lower School child?

When should I inform the school of attendance changes?

Please make attendance updates as soon as you identify a change. When possible, it is extremely helpful if you notify us on the prior day or by 9:00 am on the day of the change. Note that this takes the place of any email addresses you may have used in the past.

Can I still email to inform the school of attendance/dismissal changes?

You should go to "Attendance/Dismissal Changes." Please use this button in order to inform the school of any changes to your child's normal routine. Note that this takes the place of any email addresses you may have used in the past.

Yes. Report cards will be easily accessible on the portal once they are produced, starting in the 2019-2020 academic year. Unlike the old system, you will continue to be able to see older report cards even as new ones are produced each term.

Additionally, we are working to transfer report cards that predate this system over as well. So although they won’t look the same, at least you’ll have access to those pdfs. Bear with us as it will take some time for us to get to this.
