Summer Programs at Speyer are committed to maintaining the same level of excellence for accelerated learners as is provided throughout the academic year. Speyer's summer line-up is designed to delight the curious mind, as well as keep each student physically active.

Once again, the Boulevard will be THE place to kick off your student's summer. Registration IS OPEN!

SUMMER 2019 PROGRAM & DATES

MAKERS’ PROGRAM

Dates: June 10th — June 28th
Eligibility: Rising First — Rising Sixth and Incoming Speyer Kindergarteners
Cost: Full Three Weeks: $2175; First Two Weeks: $1500; Second Two Weeks: $1500
Calling all Makers! Speyer’s Makers’ Program fills each day with inspiration, creativity, hands-on experiences, physical activity, and tons of fun for each child! Learn magic tricks and create optical illusions with a REAL magician, interact with technology in the Makers’ Lab, create model clay designs with Clay World ... and SO MUCH MORE!

SUMMER CHESS PROGRAM

Basic Chess (USCF rating of 1000 or less)
Dates: June 17th — June 21st
Eligibility: Rising First — Rising Fifth
Cost: $500

Advanced Chess (USCF rating of over 1000) 
Dates:
June 24th-June 28th
Eligibility: Rising First — Rising Fifth
Cost: $500

Note: This program is for current Speyer students only!

Players will improve creative thinking and problem solving skills, while exercising their minds and bodies! There will be chess lessons, independent work time, rated tournament play and game analysis. The camp will be lead by Sean O’Hanlon.

DEBATE PROGRAM

Dates: June 10th — June 14th
Eligibility: Rising Fifth — Rising Ninth
Cost: $750 

A fabulous opportunity for debaters and those who want to learn more about debate! Days are filled with open forums, lab breakouts, group activities, team research, and practice! Debate, discussion, and FUN!

HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATION ESSAY WORKSHOP

Dates: June 10th — June 21st
Eligibility: Rising Speyer Eighth Graders
Cost: $700

Program run time: 9 AM 11 AM 

The High School Admissions Essay Workshop for rising Speyer eighth graders will provide a small group setting to focus on skills needed to write a successful high school admissions essay.

What are the program hours?

Our Makers’ Program, Summer Chess, and Debate & Public Speaking Program all run from 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM.

Is there a sibling discount?

Yes! Register more than one child for a Summer at Speyer program and receive 10% off one child’s program tuition by entering the promo code “SIBLING”. (Note: This cannot be combined with other promotions.)

Is lunch provided?

We provide a daily snack, but students must bring a nut-free lunch from home.

Do you offer early drop-off in the morning?

Yes, we provide supervised early drop-off beginning at 8:30 AM. You can add this option during the online registration process.

Can I sign my child up for multiple programs?

Yes!We are excited to offer an option to pair Makers' Program with Basic or Advanced Chess for rising first through fifth graders. If your child is a rising fifth or sixth grader, you can also mix and match Debate with the "Second Two Weeks" of Makers' Program. 

Who teaches at Summer at Speyer?

Each age group has a Speyer teacher as their Group Leader. Activities are taught by both Speyer teachers and outside specialists.

What is the refund policy?

  • Payments will be fully refunded (excluding the convenience fee) if registration is canceled by April 1, 2019.

  • Any cancellations made between April 2, 2019 and May 1, 2019 will be refunded 50% of the program fee (excluding the convenience fee).

  • Cancellations made after May 1, 2019 will not be refunded.
