Speyer is the only K-8 independent school for accelerated learners in NYC.
It is a place where students are inspired to be intellectually curious and passionate.
At Speyer, students are empowered to pursue their intellectual passions, guided by faculty who help them develop the habits of mind and strength of character to realize their extraordinary potential. They learn in a research-based environment that responds and adjusts to match their academic abilities and their emotional development to challenge intellect and nurture integrity.
We cultivate a deep understanding of who each child really is — not just as a learner but as a whole person.
Congrats to Speyer’s Class of 2019!
On June 4, we celebrated the final moment in a Speyer journey: graduation. As we watched the 31 graduates on the stage during their ceremony, we were watching the magic that is Speyer in human form. For their graduation film, our graduates were inspired by the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. about a life’s blueprint. By definition, a blueprint is a guide for making something — it's a design or pattern that can be followed. A blueprint helps you figure out what to do.
Speyer provided a blueprint for these 31 unique, original, powerful students. Not one was alike, and Speyer’s blueprint helped shape all 31 of them into who they are and who they will become. We send these 31 amazing young women and men off with the words of Dr. King: Be a bush if you can’t be a tree. If you can’t be a highway, just be a trail. If you can’t be a sun, be a star. For it isn’t by size that you win or fail. Be the best of whatever you are.
